Build a Website: Letting Kids Express More

Kids of today also wish to build a website of their own. Usually, these websites showcase the child's interest. Through these websites, kids who are too engrossed with activities such as skateboarding, bicycling, dancing and others can give other kids different tips while playing. These kids can also show their interest in drawing, scrapbooking, photography, or cartoons.

Sharing photos about different places they've been or they are presently living in is another way of utilizing the website. Kids can also have the opportunity to review other sites that interest them. Special family photographs, news and funny family stories can also be shared with all members of their family via kiddy website. The good thing about this time is that there are already plenty of site that are willing to help beginners to make their own site.

Making it easier for children to understand the content of your site is the main goal if you want to build a website. Limiting the content of the site to one topic only is advisable to ensure that you will not commit the mistake of packing everything onto one page; this can be done by putting breaks in every page. Adding a 'turn me off' button is essential if you can't avoid adding sounds; for the visual aspect, do not overload the site with too much animation or flashing objects. This is always being reminded to beginners since images, video and music with high kilobytes will hinder or make the download time longer specially if the visitor is using a dialup or slower broadband connection.

Selecting a web host is the next move after choosing a topic or theme when you build a website. Many people consider a free web host for the reason that it already has a built in what you see is what you get (WYSIWYG) web editor for easy maintenance. Limiting the ads and having the opportunity to choose the domain name are just two of the advantages for paying a web host instead of availing the free one. Aside from your child, you can also learn more from this experience of guiding him to make his own website.

Basic HTML, cascading styles sheets (CSS) and graphics software are the basic and essential software that you have to learn before starting the site. Another way is to utilize a free template for your kiddy site first then learn web design if you have time; this will make it quicker to work and redesign the site. After this, you and your child can now decorate the site; clip arts and photos can be a great decoration for the site. But then, you should not stop there, you ought to teach your child how to blog.

When the essentials are already present, you can still beautify and make your site attractive by putting some extra goodies to the site like a website calendar and a guest book. Other fun add-ons may include a virtual pet adoption center, daily quotations and weather forecast. On the other hand, having a website also has a disadvantage like giving the public an access to your child's personal information. If you want to keep strangers out completely, you can password protect the site.

Like adults, kids are also fond of the internet; thus, it's good that they will be taught and guided on how to build a website. For the parents or guardians, knowing the basics can really make a difference; but, when it is coupled with researching online, it will surely bear success.

First PC Build Resources

AppId is over the quota

So it's that time again when your PC just isn't cutting the mustard. So the thought of possibly building your own system pops in your head, yet it's so easy to buy one of those over the counter computers. I mean who wouldn't want the comfort of a dell warranty by their side. Fact is you can simply get more bang for your buck with a PC you build on your own. I've built many PC's in my day and I would never go back to the old way of picking a PC off the conga line. There are some key resources when it comes to building a PC.

Tom's Hardware is a big help as they review lots of products and provide performance graphs. These graphs give you a starting point as to where you want to fit in with current technology. Obviously the higher you are on the graph, the closer you are to current technology and the greater the cost. Tom's also has a quarterly PC build that they do. They build a few different systems on different budgets. So in theory you could skip the research portion all together and buy exactly the part they used for the build. I've done that a few times and it's worked out alright.

Newegg is by far the best place to buy your products. It's full of reviews and has a very easy way to compare products. Pulling from your graphs, you can start to piece together your cart and see what you're PC is looking like. One thing about Newegg is that they are always offering sales. It's either a big Friday sale, or a big weekend sale, or big holiday sale, or free shipping. There is always something going on. You also get a discount for bundles. Bundles are things like buying a CPU and motherboard together. If all goes well, you'll be in out of Newegg in no time and well on your way to building a new PC.

One key thing to remember if you are building a new PC to replace your old one. Having a 1tb portable hard drive on hand isn't a bad idea. Most don't have more than 1tb of data, but something to help transfer files quickly and easily should ease the stress of data retention. There is nothing worse than building a new PC, only to find out that your old data didn't transfer correctly. Always have a backup copy stored externally.

This should get most started in the right general direction. If you have a friend handy that has built a PC or two, you may want to have him or her on hand in case anything goes wrong.

By the way, are you in need of a portable hard drive?
If so, I suggest you check out: 1TB Portable Hard Drive
