In the early days of the Internet one of the biggest things that a person needed to do is to zip their files. This is because in the early days of the Internet computers were slow and the internet was slow as well. This meant that the capabilities of the internet could not match the consumption of the users. Therefore, there was an extreme imbalance between the capabilities of the computers and the internet as it related to the users of the internet.
One of the best ways to get content to survive the minimal bandwidth size was to zip files. This is also sometimes known as compressing a file. There were many programs that had to be compressed so that they would work on a client's computer. Some of the most popular zip files were programs that allowed people to access the Internet. There was no Wi-Fi. Therefore, most of the connections needed were run through the telephone line, which required a program that allowed the computer to access the Internet through the phone lines. These were some of the most popular programs to zip because accessing the Internet was a luxury at this point in time.
However, as time went on the programs became much bigger because capabilities of the machines got better. That means zipping files with no longer the best way to deliver files across the Internet. The files were too big even when zipped or compressed. They could no longer be fit on a floppy disc or sent in an e-mail. Therefore, new type of compression had to be built or a way to transfer files when a limit on how big the file is had to be created.
The invention of file sharing programs was a major advance in the Internet. No longer was the productivity of a business or client dependent on how small they could make a file. A person could create a file and send it across the internet no matter how big it was by using a file sharing program. Therefore, a business that wants to do a lot of business needs a file sharing program so that they can be as effective as possible.
The file sharing platforms were built out of the ashes of zip files. Even though zip files are still used in modern day they are not as prevalent as they used to be an older times. Therefore, a business needs to update how they share their files with their collaborative partners and their clients by using a file sharing program.
A file sharing program not only helps the business send files across the Internet it also helps them collaborate with business partners across the world. Therefore, file sharing has become one of the biggest things that a business needs to grow. Zipping is no longer a viable way to share information across the Internet. File sharing is the best way to collaborate with other employees or businesses. A business that is serious about making money and keeping the doors open needs a file sharing program as soon as they can get it.
