A Glance Into Different Battery Chargers

Battery chargers have the main purpose to provide energy to a secondary cell to recharge a battery through a forced electric current going through it.

The first battery charger we are going to look at is a simple charger. This type of charger works by supplying a constant DC source to the battery to produce a charge. The second battery is a trickle charger this charger works by providing a low current to charge both small and large batteries. The third charger is a timer based charger this charger terminates after a pre-determined time. The forth charger is a smart charger; it is used to communicate with the condition of the battery to modify the charging action.

A simple charger is an inexpensive charger that produces a simple charge to a battery such as AA batteries; it also takes longer to charge unlike other methods. A trickle charger is used to charge small and large batteries for things like a car, boat, and RVs. It is mainly used to provide maintenance to a battery that needs a boost or charge.

A timer based charger is a charger that is mainly used for charging Ni-Cd cells, but has complications because they become over charged and ineffective during charging. A smart charger is the most efficient because it is modified to stop the charge of a battery due to the voltage, temperature or time, causing it not to overcharge.

Battery chargers have one main purpose but meet many different forms of devices in order to provide power to them. Whether it is a car, a laptop, a cell phone, or a normal AA battery for a television remote the purpose is the same. It is important to be aware that there are many different options and types so that you get the best for your money. By doing this you are able to analyze what type of battery is the best for the type for what you are trying to power, and you will be able to decide what type of charger is the best.

Therefore, it is important that you understand the different things that different battery types can benefit you so that you can then seek out the best type of charger for your device. By doing this you will hopefully receive a strong battery capacity that doesn't decrease due to the lack of efficiency in the charge or due to over charging them.

Solar Chargers and the Great Outdoors

If you are like me and feel the need to get away from the rat race every now and then, but still want to keep in touch with what is going on, then a Solar Charger could be your new best friend.

On July 15th 2011, the Gobi 2011 Expedition successfully crossed the desert with the seven team members reaching the 1000-mile mark after 51 days, 11 hours and 40 minutes. 1000 miles is a tough endeavour. One team member remarked that the Solar Chargers were so amazing he was surprised they "didn't" fire laser beams! They also proved they were resistant to falling from the back of a camel.

I don't anticipate crossing any deserts in the near future but I will be heading up to Scotland in January for some winter activities and I need to keep in contact with how my business is doing. My Solar Charger will be in the car for my laptop and phone. I hope that I won't need it in an emergency but it is reassuring to know that there is always juice in the phone.
