Silkroad Online - What's Become of the Game and Some Tips for the Future

I will write about my favorite server so you can make an ideea about the game.

Go Pro - Go PlaySRO

What is Playsro and how do you imagine it? PlaySRO is a Silkroad Online server with thousands of members across the world, as far as i am concerned, i've meet people from USA to Koreea. If you heard of World of Warcraft then it means you know enough to play. You create a character and then start your journey across the maps in order to grow your level and get more and more experience.

Of course, there is more than that. PVP, Dungeons, Events, etc. PlaySRO has them all and to be honest the Staff does a great job with the events they are making. You can always check their events on their website.

Also, as far as i know, most of the other servers are opened by bored kids and crazy Silkroad fans. Well, this one isn't. The server is opened and managed by GoplayNetworks staff. They hold servers and administrate games since 2008 and i believe thats an experience you can only gain with....of course, time.

Regarding their website systems. That is another super cool aspect of the community. You can vote and get free silk or you can donate and they will reward your support. You also have refferal system and you get rewarded if you bring friends. The forum is easy to access and i heard they are working on their own custom template, which is cool.

Here are some server details:

- Rates: 100x for Experience, 50x for Item Drop and 17 for Gold drop.

- Server is being hosted on 3 machines somewhere in Germany from hetzner ( pro hosting )

- Weekly Events held by their GM's

- I have rarely experienced lag but thats because my ISP is weak so i guess the server has NO LAG.

Website: http://www.playsro.com

Administration: http://www.goplaynetworks.com

I said i would talk about my favorite server but i have to say something about this new one aswell. Silkroad of Immortals. Why do i want to tell you about it?

It came recently to me that this server will be online on 1st February with a new revolutionary system for Silkroad Online called "Rebirth System". And no, its not to official version of Silkroad-R. If you take 5 minutes and read their website description which is preety vague unfortunatelly you will come to see that its a new system where you can reborn your character, just like in the old MU ONLINE game. I guess the lack of information is because they don't want to release the full ideea before they open the server, so it doesn't get stolen.

Anyways, go to www.silkroad-of-immortals.com and check out the info there. You can also submit to a newsletter and they will announce you when the server is opened.

Kindle Wi-Fi Vs 3G: What's Best For You?

AppId is over the quota

Ever since its launch, Amazon's Kindle line has been setting standards for eBook readers with clear, crisp displays and backed with an immense collection of books, audio books, and other content. The latest iteration of the line, Kindle 3, comes in two variants: a Wi-Fi only version, and a 3G version. So which Kindle is best for you? It is basically Kindle Wi-Fi vs 3G, the better model is going to be your final choice.

Let's take a look at the hardware specs first while considering Kindle Wi-Fi vs. 3G. Both Kindles share the exact same specs, except the inclusion of an EVDO/CDMA modem in the 3G one.

Both devices come with ARM-11 CPUs; which might seem underpowered at 532MHz, but is fully optimized to give you the best performance possible. Combined with 256MB of RAM and very light and quick Linux-based operating system, it's definitely one of the smoothest digital readers in the market right now.

Both offer enough storage for up to 3,500 books, which combined with Amazon's online sync and archive feature, Whispersync, ensure that you never run out of space. They both come with the usual collection of ports, jacks, and adapters; a USB 2.0 port for PC connections, a 3.5mm Stereo Headphone Jack, and built-in stereo speakers.

Perhaps one of the most important parts of these devices is the display. Both versions come with a 6-inch E Ink Pearl Display with a native resolution of 600x800 pixels. Combined with dark, sharp fonts, this ensures a glare-free reading experience, even in bright sunlight.

Both devices also come with 1750 mAh batteries that offer up to two months of use with a single charge, provided you keep the wireless adapter and modem off. The screen plays a significant role in improving their battery life. Through their E Ink technology, Amazon has lowered power consumption quite a bit, and the slower ARM-11 processor helps a lot too.

When analyzing Kindle Wi-Fi vs 3G, you will get to know that both variants come with Wi-Fi adapters, with one carrying an added 3G, EVDO/CDMA modem. This makes it really easy to stay connected to Amazon's servers wherever you go. The modem connects to Amazon's Whispernet 3G networks free of cost, letting you manage your account, download new content and synchronize your reading progress, bookmarks, and even archive your old books.

Whispernet is Amazon's 3G network that only works with Kindle devices and gives you access to their collection of over a million books and audio books. The best bit is that you don't have to pay any subscription or connectivity charges for 3G network access. Another key Amazon feature is Whispersync. It lets you synchronize your reading progress, bookmarks, notes, and tags with all your Kindle devices. You can also archive your old content on your Kindle library on Amazon's network to free up space on your Kindle device.

Having access to over 1 million books including best-selling titles, over 1.8 million out-of-copyright titles, thousands of free samples and book previews, and over 50,000 audio books is definitely a plus! Users can even lend select books to other Kindle or Kindle app users now.

You can get the Wi-Fi-only Kindle for $139, while you have to pay an additional $50 for the 3G variant ($189). The Kindle Wi-Fi vs 3G debate is entirely dependent on your usage. If you plan to use it where you know you have wireless access, such as at some public places, restaurants or cafes, or at home, then you can opt for the Wi-Fi version. If you commute a lot, or spend a lot of time in suburban areas where Wi-Fi hotspots are a bit scarce, then you can opt for the 3G version and stay connected all the time, provided you fall in their coverage zone. You can view Amazon's Whispernet coverage map to see whether you can access the network from your area. Kindle Wi-Fi vs 3G will enable you to come up with a better decision.

So What's With iPad 2?

As with all great movies, we always want a sequel. Even the most popular gadgets and machines, also have their own sequel. Recently, Apple released the sequel to their iPad. The iPad 2 has hit the stores and taken Mac fans by storm. Ordinarily people nowadays get really confused with the iPad and the iPad 2. Some say there are not many changes between the old and new, and often people don't even consider them as two different products. But for the sake of answering the question of what's different between the first and the second, I have listed some basic stuff that has changed or that has remained the same between the two.

1. Screen size- No change. The iPad 2 still uses the same 9.7 inch LED back-lit IPS 1024 x 768 screen as the first iPad. Technically, it will just boil down to the graphics processor to be used on the iPad 2. The first iPad used a Power VR SGX 535 graphics processor.

2. Processor- Changed. Personally, I think this is the best upgrade to the iPad 2. It sports a dual core 1GHz A5 chip compared to the old single core A4 chips of the original iPad. The old A4 chip had 256MB worth of RAM so expect a hefty change in the iPad 2 with its dual core A5 chip.

3. Size- Slight Change. Apple decided to slim down the iPad 2. Thickness is down from 13.4mm to 8.8mm. The overall weight was also tweaked but the differences are not much to be noticed.

4. Storage - No Change. Same options as the original iPad - 16, 32, and 64GB.

5. Radios- Slight Change. Both the WiFi and Bluetooth remain unchanged in the iPad 2. Where the original iPad featured EDGE and HSPA. The newer iPad showcased EDGE plus quad-band capabilities. Different versions for Verizon and AT&T have different frequencies for GSM/EDGE depending on the provider.

6. Price - Slight to no change. Depending on where you buy your iPad 2, there is little to no difference as to the original price of the first iPad.

7. Cameras- New addition. This is one of the top benefits of the newer iPad. Equipped with 2 cameras, one VGA camera facing front and a 720p camera facing the rear, the iPad is a must have for people who are into video conferencing.

In a nutshell, the iPad 2 is a refresh of the first one. All of the apps you can use on the iPad 2, you can readily use on the first one. No bigger difference other than the camera and the processor. Unless you video conference or do high-grade computing on your tablet, upgrading from the original iPad to the iPad 2 is not highly recommended. Although there are some people who stare at their iPad and feel a bit too uncomfortable with it and for the others, why stay with the old when you can get the newest, updated and better version. It's all a matter of choice. Functionality wise, the iPad and iPad 2 have their own places, you just have to find out where.
